The Recruiting
Playbook

Securing the scholarship for high school and club athletes

Recruiting rewards the prepared, not just the gifted. This is the guide to running the process on purpose: what to send, when to send it, who to talk to, and how to stay in front of the programmes that fit you.

The approach

Engineered, then
written plainly.

Jeff is an engineer by trade, so the work starts with how a system fits together. Then it gets rewritten until an athlete can read it on the bus.

Easy to read

Organized, sequenced, and free of jargon. You should never need a second book to understand this one.

Value added

Drawn from OGs of the game, research, coaching, and decades of studying sport. Nothing filler, nothing recycled.

Practical and relatable

Written to be used. Every idea comes with something you can put into practice at your next session.

A positive, powerful mindset, discipline, and a strategic approach are fundamental to growth.

Jeff JR Anderson

About the author

Jeff JR Anderson has spent over 25 years in sport, as a semi-professional soccer player, a coach of more than eight years, and a lifelong student of performance.

He is an engineer by trade, which shows in how he works: understand the system, find the parts that matter, then explain it so anyone can use it. He still trains, practising functional fitness and weightlifting, and plays competitive pickleball on the days he is not writing.

He began his first book in 2016, organizing decades of learning from mentors, research, conversations, and studying sport into books that athletes, parents, and coaches can actually follow.
